  2. whenever i see a window like this, i have to wonder, who might have stood here and touched the glass with her fingertips (of course, her fingertips, i imagine some beautiful woman of years ago :-), looking out, at twilight or dawn ... or what, looking in, one might have seen there ...

    1. exactly my thoughts :-)
      this is just a plainly descriptive photo, so i wondered why i would want to show it here, but somehow it seemed that in this case "plainly descriptive" was just enough, the way things had to be, so that her story might unfold in our minds :-)

    2. we make this distinction between "art" and the photo that is only "descriptive," and we usually think the descriptive is somehow secondary ... i do this, too:-)

      but sometimes the work of the artist is to know (it isn't easy) when the "plainly descriptive" is best ...
