  3. iresine! which god or goddess (or feathery dwarf ) came up with that name? i resign myself to the fact that, apart from having a knack for fashioning questionable puns out of questionable botanical names, i adore the deep crimson, a color known to chase grumous fog back to its den, that graces, with the distinction of a bejeweled sultana, the window ledge.

And the dark one is fine, apart from the fact that it heralds no colors (a near fatal error in the minds of certain punctilious individuals).

And now i learn of its demise. Adieu, poor Iresine.

(you have only just started the new blog and already we are in mourning!)

    1. yes, not a very happy beginning for a blog, isn't it? or maybe, that is just what it was to be expected from the Bridge's windows :-)

i adore both the name and the colour, now i am reduced to 2 small leaves which i put in a glass with water, they threw out tiny roots and i have just potted them - though who knows how long they will survive, this is my 3rd attempt to grow iresine, she might be as graceful as a bejeweled sultana, but for sure she is as sensitive as the same (we just assume all princesses are like that :-)

  4. These are wonderful to contemplate. It is interesting to me how a photograph immortalizes a moment, or makes an ordinary person seem somehow, 'heroic'...and while the color is so luscious and true, the black and white seems so much more the fact....maybe this speaks to my age...I grew up watching black and white documentaries of WWII...when color tv came along, it seemed cosmetic, even though more true...now, I have become such an old fart, I prefer film to digital...and ditto as for sound...the old vinyl records, even when scratchy seem more real than the newer digital sounds....I guess this officially makes me an old person! : )

    1. i know, myth, i have the same feeling about b/w being truer to the fact, paradoxically (does this make me an old person too? :-)
      - yet, the colour is luscious and i am always torn between the two :-)

  5. Hi my friend,I wish you good luck in the form of this beautiful continuation of the bridge. How I love the dance of the mind and heart in red. I couldn't help but read your comments and I have to admit that you are one of the most positive artists that I have ever come across.powerful art must contain the tensions of life otherwise it rings of artificiality it doesnt ring at all and I see an entire symphony of red here.yes it is what I would expect to hear from the bridge.and I agree with mythopolis as in all your posts they are wonderful to contemplate.
Have a beautiful day my friend.
    sending you new day kisses.

  6. and the smallest trace of wine in the bottom of the glass...

(i wonder on the conversation between black and white and truth also. why is it that black and white seems to reveal, and colour conceal? and yet i am convinced. colour is like the cobra distracting us, while the buffalo and his shadow sneak out of the basket:)
